Kalvfestivalen 2021 – The program ready!

On 12-15 August 2021, the Kalv Festival will be part of the restart of musical life in Sweden, and a festival postponed from 2020 will finally see the light of day! We welcome German ensemble mosaik, Norwegian Ensemble Temporum, Swedish percussion and performance duo Hidden Mother, American trombone duo Rage Thormbones and last but not least we can reveal Kalvfestivalen’s final act, Polish violinist Linda Jankowska! Jankowska who travels to Kalv with an exciting repertoire by Hanna Hartman, Sam Salem and Pierluigi Billone, among others. She takes a place in the church, the village hall and finally in Kalv’s forest.

This year’s festival is subtitled community?! Before the pandemic struck, only community was the ambition. The meeting between the countryside and musicians; to have a festival lit up with workshops, concerts, musical interventions and conversations. Now our community gets an addition of ?!, How do we start about cultural life? What, or perhaps rather, how have we changed? But we must not forget that humanity needs music!

In addition to the festival, the third composition academy will also be held, this year digitally, but on our website (as well as on a live link in Kalv) you will be able to take part of the academy which starts as early as August 9, led by composers Clara Iannotta and Dmitri Kourliandski.

4 days festival in the church, village hall, the mechanical workshop, Kalv’s old school and in the surrounding forests is in front of us. Come and join us! The festival is inaugurated in Kalv’s church at 19.00 on August 12th.
