Varberg’s chamber choir, which was formed in 1976, is an independent amateur choir with professional ambition. The choir has about 30 members, several of whom have music as a profession. Musically, the choir strives to maintain a great breadth, with music from different genres and a cappella singing as well as collaborations with different constellations of musicians and orchestras. After the success of the International Choir Days in Prague in 1994, when the choir won the class “Less mixed choir” and was named “Best choir in all categories” among 40 participating choirs, many doors were opened for Varberg’s chamber choir. The choir has participated in several festivals and choir competitions and concerts extensively.
